I'm sure that everyone has a film that just is their childhood. One that they watched time and again. I grew up in a world of video tape, and for me that film was the original Star Wars (no episode designation, no "new hope", Star Wars, full stop).

For my mother, in the pre-video tape era, this film was The Sound of Music. She tells stories

I loff The Sound of Music. I think I still remember the words to all the songs, or near enough. Of course, when I was a child my dream was to grow up and be Julie Andrews, so...

I know you loff it. I just try not to see the things that I'm not meant to see and they scare me more than a little *shudders* If the parents don't take it with them when they go away there might be iconage happening. But Mum got a stack of DVDs for her b'day and she hasn't watched any and where they're staying will have a DVD player, so...

(of course, Dad would rather eat a bucket of hair than watch SoM, so there might be hope I get to steal it for those few days)

But yes, some things are just not supposed to be like anything more than G-rated sexuality in regards to SoM, so Trapp-cest is a definite nono. *ugh*
