All hail Oren, the Cat!

Thanks you all for trying to help us come up with a name!

We're going to go with Oren, its the Welsh (or Cymraeg) word for orange (colour not fruit). We wanted to go with the Gaelic word (flannbhui), but that would have been too confusing for us, the kitty, the vet, and anyone else for that matter.

All hail Oren, the Cat!

hey where were you a few days ago when we were trying to think of a name?!

we were searching all over the net to try to find a translation for gaelic or some other language :) www.logos.it worked well.
we were thinging oráiste but we didnt want to call the cat a fruit and flannbhuí was too long. then we found the Welsh translation. it seemed perfect, but i didnt bother to look to see if oren was Welsh for the color AND the fruit. :)

I'm always looking out for blogs wrtien in Cymraeg or about it, so (this is really sad,but...) I went to technorati.com, did a search for 'Cymraeg' and it gives you a list of recent posts on blogs which contains the word. So that I don't have to keep doing this, Technorati offers you a feed* for that particular search which you can pop into your newsreader*

every blog/LJ has a feed (either RSS or ATOM/XML) which sends out a message/signal each time it's updated

a newsreader is a place that gathers all the signals. I use bloglines.com but there are amny others
