When Andrea asked me, "What is the one thing about next year that scares you the most", I have been thinking about what teaching high school biology and chemistry in New Orleans next year is really going to look like. My Dear Kea:
You will do amazing. I should have never let Bum talk to you. He is crazy, was not a good teacher, and I'm not really sure he put all that much effort into making a difference. You will definitely have some kids that you won't be able to reach, but all of your friends know that you will impact other in a positive direction. I will obviously still be here come August and I'll help you in whatever way I can...a shoulder to lean on, a ear to vent to, whatever. I should have let you talk to Rick. He is getting his masters in education and much more passionate about teaching then Bum. The moral of the story is don't listen to Bum...sorry I didn't tell you that before last night.

Thanks! And please, do not feel bad- this was written before last night. Bum did not scare me- believe me I have heard worse stories. I hope you had a wonderful birthday!!!
