Wow. For me, this is kind of a mix between the Mission alleys in SF and Noah Purifoy.

Mission alleys are way more impressive and creative, imo. This is really just a few blocks. The area was in decline and it is going through a very slow revival, there is a lot of potential, but not enough energy.

I heard Pittsburgh in general was supposed to be getting better, I guess it comes in waves. And it's big isn't it?

It is getting much better, it is very noticeable even for the short time we lived here. Also, not that it was terribly bad to start with (in comparison with other rust belt cities). In fact it's not bad at all. I complain because I lived in more dynamic places and whatever new developments Pittsburgh has going feel very slow to me. It is 300K people in the city and over 2M metro area.
