Eh, someone, I always being the one to end up asking. Ok, always is extreme, but 2 out of 3, say. Perhaps this is why I don't go on dates...I won't ask. But in my opinion, the guy WILL ask if he's interested. And that just doesn't happen.

But yes, when you are asked and aren't interested, it sucks almost as much as asking and being turned down. I'm too nice, as well, or so I've been told. I'll usually turn them down, deflect, or ignore the offer (usually by deflecting with a joke), but then I feel horribly guilty about it.
