re school incident

I've just received a letter from the school assuring us that none of the teens involved in the gun incident last week, attended, or had attended that school & that in future the gates would be closed at 3.45 instead of 4.30pm.

Well I feel SO much better now :-S

I was under the impression that all of the UK is under camera observation. Why would anyone commit a crime like that knowing that they would be on tape?

Yes I did say they must be incredibly stupid to go into a school which they'd know would have cctv... but I guess they were either on drugs or simply didn't care if they got caught... the latter is the most worrying, if kids see prison as being the same/better than the situation they're in already? It's quite depressing......
