Kind of terrified.

But kind of not. Kind of excited too.

My editing tutor from last year recommended me for a volunteer job with a community service association, helping out with editing their newsletter. It's a good opportunity for hands-on experience, and has a good chance of leading to paid work in the same field later on.

That is a huge responsibility. But hey, challenges can be worthwhile in the end! If you do decide on that project, good luck on that!

Hm, you said that newsletter can be political. If you're not that into politics though, perhaps try finding another apprenticeship or maybe an entry level job of some sort and gain experience later on.

Great news you're in the Honors degree program, but sucks you're not able to pay for it at this moment. Hope that works out, though.

Yes it is. Very huge and very scary. And indeed they can be. It's not really an apprenticeship though; it's volunteer community service work, and it was offered--I didn't apply. Opportunities like this don't come along everyday, so even though I'm not very into politics I'm going for it.

It's lucky, though, because the association in question is environmental in nature--it aims for the preservation of parklands and natural resources around my homecity. My political inclinations, if I had any, would lean in that direction, so even though it's politics, the cause is something I could well enjoy and support.

Well, I've got some money saved up so I'll be okay for a while (the very expensive and very luverly dress I'm buying for my brother's wedding notwithstanding). It's more that, now I have this unpaid work, on top of Uni, I don't have as much time for a part-time job. Eh. I'll figure it out. Thanks though!
