Because numbers suck. *nods*

I may have needed to actually look up the least common denominator thing...

Well, there are different flavors of both dyslexia and dyscalculia--I have mild forms of both--but. This fits. Oh, Deeeean. *sniffle*
And I can totally relate to his getting the practical stuff as long as there is no math. One of my favorite chemistry classes was Organic for that very reason.

Wow, it's awesome that I got it right. I know a bunch of people with varying degrees of dyslexia, but I don't think I've ever met anyone with dyscalculia, so I was really only going with a gut feeling.

And I loved organic chemistry. I don't have a learning disorder, but man, did I buy into the whole 'I'm a girl, therefor I can't do math or science' thing and then BOOM, organic chemistry. :)

My experience is that it's just dyslexia with numbers, but as I say, mine's pretty mild--transpositions for both, but it's worse with numbers. I'm actually fairly good at math, as long as I double-check my work, but it's not as much fun once you hit multivariable calculus (the only C I've ever made). I can definitely see a more severe type translating into major math anxiety, and as much as the Winchesters moved, Dean wouldn't have had a teacher who would sit down and help him through it.
Funnily enough, as much of a science nerd as I was all through school, I don't remember hearing "girls can't do math or science" until freshman year of undergrad, when one of my chemistry classmates couldn't believe I kept getting better grades than he did. He was a git, though, so I enjoyed taking the wind out of his sails. :D

No! Don't dilute the precious coffee!

Thanks. It's a weird form of therapy, I think. Maybe. Or maybe I just enjoy torturing the poor guy. :P

Please never stop your therapeutic torture!!!

I have another "non verbal" comment to your story: link
It´s just a sketch but I´ll draw it properly sometime in the foreseeable future^^
