I had to find out which one you were talking about! This is lovely though, the imagery is goregous.

To be completely honest, I'm not surprised that this got nominated it is a text book perfect drabble: intriguing with a thump of realisation at the end.

Okay, maybe I judged it more on familiarity. I was actually very fond of this when I wrote it - there was this really awesome animation that inspired it. And I kinda like that there's a sciencey in-joke. So yeah, I'm biased by over-familiarity. Colour me happy for the nomination :o)

With a drabble it's easy to get too familiar with them.

But this is delightful.

I love the way you lead up to the revelation here. It sounds as if we're on a spaceport, of course, until that final line. Biology should be every bit as interesting as rocket science!

Here from cot_reviews, by the way, to let you know that we've reviewed your story as part of our Classic Who Drabble Reviews post. Congratulations on your nomination, and good luck in the awards!

Hooray for biology! For those who don't know as much about science, the workings of a single cell really can be as strange and astounding as a spaceport.
