Why why WHY did Sloan have to finally announce dates and the only one I would have had a chance of going to/using my Wendy's voucher on is the weekend before my conference, when I will likely be mad crazy busy because at that point I'll be doing everything by myself?

I am currently in the process of seeking advice from my boss/the conference director (planning this conference is freelance work in addition to my full-time job). This wouldn't normally be too much of an issue, but the assistant who handles a good chunk of the work (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE, kabukichris!) is *sob* abandoning us *sob* for grad school just as things start gearing up for the Assembly, and the above-mentioned boss is, shall we say, not the kind of guy who plans ahead or thinks about consequences.
