what's the problem?

I just want to set up a router so my roommate and I can split DSL, but it refuses to recognize a connection when I am hooked up through the router. I have spent the last three hours going over every possibility with a friend who is pretty knowledgeable on this subject, and nothing has worked. He finally just gave up.

what kind of DSL modem do you have?

Modem is Westell. Router is Linksys.

I figured that might happen. I get the absolute cell phone worst reception in this apartment. It's such a pain. I should write a "Dear Cingular" post, too. :P
