I just saw "School of Rock" (finally, eh?). I didn't go into it as a believer, but I sure came out one. It was great! I even got a little teary-eyed at the concert scene. Heh ( Read more... )

School of Rock was a bit sappy at times. But Jack Black was great. Concert scene was cool too.

I enjoyed LiT a bit more the second time I watched it.

Yeah, SoR wasn't a "classic" or anything--definitely plenty of cheesy moments--but I enjoyed it. I actually didn't get all criticize-y about the cheesy moments, which is abnormal for me. :)

So funny, your entry was completely opposite than one I would have made on this topic. I am a Jack Black-hater and have no desire to see SOR, just don't find him funny whatsoever. And I absolutely love Lost in Translation, I find Murray's humor so subtle and the film totally captivated me. But, if we all had the same opinions how exciting would that be? =)

I'm not a Jack Black hater, but I agree that he's usually over the top, which is why I was kind of "ehh" about SoR and took so long to see it. But it really was cute.

I liked Murray's humor in LiT, too, but I didn't like much else about the movie. I spent most of it alternating my thoughts between "Why???" and "Get on with it already!"
