Character Drop.
I'm sorry to announce - though I'm sure a lot of people saw it coming - that I'm going to be dropping Professor Hojo. I'm terribly sorry to everyone who was planning or arranging things with me; I didn't expect to do it so soon, but I think I've left it far too long.
Of course, since I'm an idiot and I feel like closure is appropriate for his final project, he's left a present. A little mini-event. |D
A series of violent explosions will give away the location of his project. Not, surprisingly enough, under the ground, but in the same tiny single-floored building that he held Kairi hostage in during the summer of last year, close to the graveyard (or the construction site on the map). A white, dense fog will make it hard to know what's going on. You're all welcome to respond and come running to see.
Essentially, there's a machine. It's not particularly large, and it has what looks like dried up pieces of fruit incorporated in the design. That's Roxas's heart, though heavily conditioned to be suitable for use as part of a biomechanical device. It's harnessing the power of Roxas's heart and the darkness it's composed of to - ohohoho - open a darkness corridor in an effort to escape Purgatorium. Across the room from it, it projects a swirling, not-quite-stable portal that does, indeed, seem to lead to somewhere else.
Slightly cracky, but you remember your dream when the Island had their event? Yes, friends. ): He opened a portal to the Island, using a piece of the Island soil he took home with him as a homing device. DON'T JUDGE ME, IT MAKES LOGICAL SENSE IN ANIMU-SPEAK. ♥
However, it sucks to be Hojo, because this has clearly failed to work. The machine is perfectly intact, but Hojo's glasses are on the floor, cracked. And the portal is growing by the minute, stretching slowly outwards.
It can be closed - either by combating it, or the Gods shutting it, or allowing it to collapse under its own weight. OR it could stabilise and just sit there as another of Purgatorium's charming features. |D Whatever you guys would prefer. Note that the portal does pull - it's essentially a black hole on a low heat. It might have gotten Hojo to the Island, but it got him there as a nice long string of spaghetti. Bitch is dead as dead gets.
As far as destroying it goes~. Magic is your best bet, but your typical brand of offensive magic won't work, as it only damages Purgatorium and makes the hole bigger. |D

Edit: Ah, I'm so forgetful! Rel, since my posted reply to you was a couple of days late, I'm assuming his device repair was done as offff yesterday, giving him the data he needed to perform this operation.
