As she walked through the city on the way to Claire's house, Elle had to struggle not to turn around and just no show. Sure, the younger girl and her had got along here; she'd even go as far as to say that they were potential allies, but getting help from anyone rankled, especially when that someone was Claire. Ugh, how she had hated the other girl, so lucky, so perfect, so special. Elle was special, too, but apparently, shooting lightning from your palms was less interesting than healing. Da- The Company, considered it a more precious ability and what was worse, Claire never even had to struggle with it. She just had it. She had never had to fight to control it like Elle, never had to...but those thoughts were useless, now ( ... )

"Finally." Claire whispered, hopping to her feet to go and answer the door. Dante trailed at her heels, barking at the stranger on the other side of the door. Unlocking and opening the door, she motioned for Elle to come inside. She offered the other a half smile, not exactly friendly and welcoming but not exactly a statement of hatred or annoyance either.

"I was wondering if you were going to show up at all." She walked through the hall and over toward the bedroom, not bothering to yell at her dog, who was practically leaping up on Elle in an attempt to sniff and lick at her.

She smirked a bit as she made way into her room, and busied herself with getting some towels and a knife so she could help Elle's burn. She was assuming that the other would want that taken care of right away. She didn't see much small talk happening until after her hand was back to normal.

Elle didn't return Claire's almost-smile and just brushed her way in, peering around. She glanced down at the dog and raised her eyebrows at it. She wasn't the biggest fan of dogs. They were so loud and annoying. It figured that someone like Claire liked them.

"Sorry, I didn't realize you were in a rush, princess," Elle snapped offhandedly but there was no weight behind it. She was too busy unwrapping her shirt from around her hand. She held out the injured appendage. The palm and underside of all her fingers were lightly burned- nothing too bad, but annoying as hell. "So, can you fix it up? I sort of need this hand."

"Not really in a rush at all. Sylar's out with his crazy best friend that I despise, and I'm here alone. So even your company is better than nothing at all." She mock-sweetly replied, turning around to face Elle with the supplies that they were going to use. The towels were tossed onto the bed first, followed by the knife, and Claire stepped in close to look at Elle's hand.

Despite the fact that her motions were rigid, her touch was gentle and she frowned in concern at the sight of the burn. "Okay. I don't have a needle to inject you. I'm going to have to cut you, then me. I'm not even sure it'll work, but its worth a shot. Where's the closest major vein, or artery? Whichever one I'm going to need?" As she spoke, her fingertips lightly ran over Elle's wrist, and she looked up to gage Elle's expression.

"Are you still up for this, or do you want me to just wrap this for you?"

"I'm so touched. I've always aspired to be greater than nothing," Elle said, rolling here eyes. She looked at the towels and knife curiously. It wasn't everyday you got to see a procedure like this one.

She hissed a little when Claire touched her palm. Elle had never liked pain herself, though it amused to her to inflict it on others. Still, she bristled when Claire seemed to imply that Elle was going to chicken out.

"Please, heal-girl, I'm not afraid of a little cut," she snapped. "As for where, I'm no doctor but I'm guessing the biggest vein would be the one in your wrist- you know, the one people slit open when they try to kill themselves."
