Chris shrugged his shoulders, shut his lighter, and tucked it into one of his pockets. "No, he doesn't," he admitted with a faint sigh. "But if I vanish, he'd figure out pretty fast where to start looking for me." Leon was smart, Chris would gladly admit. Smart enough to start asking questions if he went missing.
There were a lot of things bouncing around in his head at that moment. Old memories, painful reminders of just who he was dealing with, faint reminders that once upon a time this man had been his captain. He couldn't help but twitch slightly at it all. He shifted uncomfortably from one fott to the other. "We weren't friends. You were always distant from everyone. Always off somewhere else or shut up in the office." He smiled grimly at the memory. "You were... someone I looked up to. Someone I trusted."
Chris never trusted authority easily. It was what had gotten him discharged from the Air Force, after all. "Which is what made what happened at the mansion even worse. That you could kill my friends, my coworkers so easily..."
"I'll never forgive you for that."
He laughed at Wesker's last comment. "Are you kidding? It's infuriating."
