The journey to Raphael's home was not a troubling one; the streets were nearly deserted, as everyone was off with their beaus and mistresses. Gemma, however, had quite a different plan for the day. She had intended on spending it holed up in her room, avoiding Hannibal at all costs; she wasn't about to risk embarrassing herself in front of him, should she happen to be affected by whatever was going around.

Thankfully, though, the redhead felt perfectly normal and was quite confident about meeting the angel. Besides, the ribbons and rose threaded into her curled locks were quite charming, and she was more than happy to display them.

Of course, she wasn't sure exactly what she was going to say to the heavenly host; she had never actually met an angel before. Prayed to them, yes. But nothing at Spence could have prepared her for the sight of a winged blonde sitting... on top of a roof. Verdant eyes wide, she dropped into a curtsy the moment she saw him. "Master Raphael," she greeted politely.

Raphael gracefully moved down to the ground, reaching forward and taking her arm, gently pulling her out of the curtsy. "Gemma. ♥" He smiled, not even feeling the need to turn on his usual charm--not yet, anyway. Instead, he let his hand drift up to her hair, tucking back a few stray strands.

"It does look stunning," he remarked, and truthfully (for a change). He was used to spinning all sorts of lies and falsities just to lure women into his bedroom. However, he didn't need to do that with Gemma. Perhaps it was this Valentine's Day event that made him feel some attraction for her... or maybe it was just genuine affection. He supposed he would have to wait to find out, anyway.

With that thought, he moved to open the door. "Come in~."

As he raised her from the gesture, a smile made its way to her lips. He was indeed a gentleman, she thought, saving her from such a ridiculous thing such as the curtsy. A light pink blossomed across her cheeks as he brushed away a few curls, but her smile remained in place.

"Thank you," the redhead replied almost automatically. So many years of being raised right and proper had made such courtesies almost second nature. Jade gaze holding nothing but curiosity, she watched as he stepped towards the door. It never even crossed her mind to make an excuse to not enter his house; all males she had met so far were perfectly chivalrous, and she didn't expect an angel of all beings to be different. "Of course."

Dipping her head once more as a sign of thanks, she lifted her skirt slightly to step across the dusty ground and across the threshold.

Raphael stepped aside to let her in, and then followed, closing the door behind them. The inside of the house was fairly well lit--candles, of course, which also served to cover up the smell of cigarettes decently enough. The first room, which they were in, consisted of a make-shift kitchen, with a table for two. (Three was a crowd by Raphael's standards, anyway. The only person who really came by now and again was Michael.)

In any case, on the table rested two wine glasses and a decently sized bottle (red, and one of the few things Raphael bothered to buy in Purgatorium). He wondered, idly, if Gemma was the drinking sort, and decided it wouldn't hurt to offer. Before moving around too much, he let his wings ease into his back again, not wanting to disturb any of the candles.

"It's been an interesting day," he commented, as he pulled out a chair for her.
