He knew Misa was often less than practical, but he had really assumed she was just going to show up the next day. At four in the morning, Light preferred to be sleeping, and did not enjoy hearing a knock on the front door. Amber eyes peeled open, debating quite vehemently whether it was worth getting up or not. But then again, the urgency behind the knock was all too familiar.

With a sigh, Light pushed himself up. Scratching his head, he slid off the second-rate mattress he had been able to patch up. Shuffling across the floor, he ran fingers through his hair as he made his way out of the room he had claimed for a proper bedroom and towards the front door. Another sigh fell from his lips at the second knock. Impatient.

Sliding the lock he had constructed from the door, he opened it slowly, and sure enough, there she was. Leaning against the door frame, Light held his forehead in his hand, rubbing it like he had a headache.

"Misa...do you know what time it is?"

Her body snapped suddenly into motion, when the faint sound of the lock slidding could be heard. Her body began to take motion, as she began to jump and run around happily. Then stopping as the door slipped open, she had been waiting to see her Light so long, she couldn't help but want to jump straight into his arms- but hearing the tone in his voice, stopped herself.

"Misa-Misa knows sorry Light-Kun, but Misa had to help a friend settle into this place, then Misa decided that she would come over early. Why is Light not happy to see Misa?"

Why did she have to ask that at four in the morning? He had spent many all nighters on the Kira case, but that was for a good reason. He really just wanted to sleep with what little peace he had left. Misa was a useful too, but...a handful otherwise. And there was really no good barrier he had thought of to put that respectable distance between them yet.

Light nodded as she spoke, rubbing his face again, then his hair back. "I'm sorry, Misa," he said, albeit begrudgingly. "I'm just a little tired." That should be good enough reason for her. He left it implied that he was happy. Forcing a sleepy half-smile, he opened the door to allow her in. No turning back now.

Misa gave a delighted smile, bounding into the house cheerfully. She was in her new dress that Miwako gave her, and finally in a pair of shoes. All she really carried, was the few clothes she had left, and a backpack equip with a sewing machine and batteries.

"Sorry, Light for waking you. Misa has just missed her Light-Kun." She stood behind him, dropping her bags to the floor and standing slightly respectable, in his presence.
