Who: Rikku (
calamitousness) and Riku (
walktodawn).
When: Sometime this afternoon.
Where: Her garage.
Rating: PG-13, just because.
Warnings: Engine oil. ... TBD.
Summary: Soul-twin A roped soul-twin B into becoming her lackey techie slave minion special helper for the day.

"Cred, that wasn’t supposed to go there..."

This sentence was not the ideal thing to hear when working with potentially explosive machina, and when it came from Rikku, most people with even a shred of common sense hit the ground running. Blowing up one hangar at the age of thirteen because of a single misplaced wire seemed to be able to smudge a person’s reputation indefinitely, forever tainting their credibility in the workplace.

Not that Riku knew or would ever find out anything about that.

After days of relentless begging courtesy of the thief, the silver-haired teen had finally conceded to spend the day with her at the garage, actually helping rather than doing nothing. He called it watching; she called it being decidedly lazy because he just felt like loafing around the place. She had sent Gippal out earlier to go scavenge for machina from the junkyard - he would be gone for at least a few more hours, even though he might catch hypothermia in the process. With all the doors closed and windows shut tight, the open space scattered with machina was actually sort of warm. Rikku had opted for jeans and her thief top, resulting in nearly her entire upper body being smudged with grease.

Back pressed to the cold concrete floor beneath a generator held up by steel beams, Rikku extended her arm, waving it around so that her soul-twin could see it. "Quick, I need that uhm... yea, the socket wrench!" The flailing was almost desperate, and there was no conceivable way to just hand her the tool. Doing so may have caused severe physical injury; who would be on the receiving end was completely up to Fate.
