Grimmjow's arrogance would always ultimately be his downfall, no matter what he thought. He was resting, not quite asleep (a habit he had formed living amongst monsters and he would keep until the day he died again), eyes closed and head bowed as he dozed in an armchair that was too small for his frame, looking as if it were ready to give under the broad arrancar.

Talking with Ulquiorra over the... what did humans call it, again? Computer? Talking with Ulquiorra colored what his mind contemplated as he rested his body, making him wonder what would come if the fourth managed to find him in this forsaken place. They were on even terms. There were no powers, Grimmjow had a sword whereas Ulquiorra most likely didn't, and strangely enough, his fear of Aizen's wrath waned by the day, as foolish as that may have sounded. While it was true that Aizen was typically Ulquiorra's number one priority, things were a little different than they normally had been in the past. The situation had changed a bit, hadn't it? Just a little, and while he had every intention of seeking Aizen out after he was finished with Grimmjow, he wasn't too keen on the idea of visiting him without any information on his rather interesting predicament. Of course, Grimmjow wasn't exactly the best person to force information out of, but. He was better than nothing. Could actually talk a little more coherently than Wonderwice or Neliel could, and -- as for Szayel, he wasn't exactly aware of his presence within the city at that current point in time ( ... )

Whereas Ulquiorra found meaning and purpose in Aizen's will, Grimmjow could only find anger at the feeling of not belonging to himself. They had been made, and they could be broken by that same hand, but that didn't mean that Grimmjow was any more pleased with the notion. He despised being afraid, and Aizen was the sole thing that made him feel fear; Aizen and his machinations, all the quiet little ways he wound around that Grimmjow simply didn't understand because that's not how he was built ( ... )
