The many abodes that they had already explored were mostly the same; each a dusty remnant of the past, decaying slowly, offering little by way of aid for their company. Deidara didn't mind the process of exploration, however. He fancied lurking about in desecrated homes near ready to collapse. It was a small thrill where so few had been present as of late.

The newest building they were about to explore was larger than the last few had been and looked to resemble what had once been an office or something of the sort. Deidara, upon giving the property a once over, was glad he had some of his abilities back now.

He warned aloud as he made his way into the threshold ahead of the other, "Be on alert, Tobi. You never know what's lurking about in these places, un..."

"Yeah." he chortled. "Might be another thing like the three-tailed. You never know what hangs around int his dump." All the same, Tobi followed, carefully turning this way and that, eying their surroundings.

Some sort of office...

"Think it has a vault or something? It'd be awesome to find a safe full of stuff!" he added, voice, as always, slightly muffled by that mask. He was on alert though, his movements careful, unhurried. The last thing they needed was to be attacked by ratdogs or something and have to turn tail and run away like sissies!

Deidara would be damned if he turned tail and ran like a sissy. That'd be the last thing he'd do if faced with an opponent that was difficult, as seen in the willing and crazy way he had died while fighting Sasuke...

When faced with dying or losing, Deidara would almost always choose dying. His art was supreme. He wouldn't tolerate it being defeated, which was why he'd developed that suicide jutsu. Not only was it a last resort, but it was the ultimate expression of his style of art. A real beauty... a real bang.

"A vault...? Yeah, that'd be nice, un. Also highly unlikely..." Deidara muttered, shoving aside a chair with his foot, peering over top of what appeared to be a cluttered, dust and grime ridden reception desk. "We should find... a cafeteria or lunch room or something, un. That way we can grab some food seeing as how you're too much of a wimp to chew on some monsters."

"I am not a wimp!" he whined, gesticulating wildly as he followed after him. Tobi had no desire to die. He'd come close many, many times, but dying was undesirable. Still, he respected Deidara and his jutsu, even if he had to admit to himself that he didn't want to lose his senpai again. On one hand it would be sad. On another it would be inconvenient.

"Anything we can take that looks useful, I guess..." he glanced at the desk, spying another dusty typewriter and ruined ink cartridge. Shaking his head, he slipped around it, pointing.

"Looks like there's an elevator that way..." and he started in that direction slowly, peering around the corner before stopping to look carefully at the gaping chasm of the empty shaft.

Deidara's reaction to the useless typewriter was to bang on it profusely before following after Tobi, a shower of typewriter keys hitting the floor behind him, his shallow snickering echoing in the empty room. "What's that, un?" he called out, joining the masked marauder by the elevator shaft. "An elevator?"

He put a hand on the other's shoulder, giving him a short shove aside so that he could peer inwards past the parted and badly dented doors. It was pitch black... and empty. Running who knew how deep below, and who knew how high above.

Slowly that wide grin transformed into an eager sneer. Oh, yes. He liked the prospect of this. "I say we walk up, un..." he snickered, pointlessly pressing one of the arrow buttons for the elevator doors. Nothing happened.
