Alice smiled as she waved Harry in. "I'm almost ready. I just have to lock up and then we're good to go. My bag's by the door. Luckily, I don't have much to bring up with me, so I was able to fit it all in one bag. My mother'd be proud of me for my 'efficient packing'," she laughed as she locked the door and grabbed her bag, putting it on her shoulder.
"Lead the way, Harry," she said as she looked around the store. "You know, I'm going to worry about this place. But we have people who live a stone's throw away. Someone would notice pretty quickly if someone tried to break into it, right?"
"Yes, someone would notice very quickly," Harry said with a nod. While it was hard to imagine someone wanting to vandalize Alice's store, he knew some of the people here were less that savory and would do anything to survive. Of course, he could do her one better than just being a stones throw away.
"But don't worry about it, I have my magic back," he reassured her. "First thing tomorrow I'll come down and ward this place. We'll make it so when you lock up at night, no one can get in. Speaking of which... I should probably give you the surprise now. I got the gods to agree to this, but there were certain... stipulations on how I gave it to you..."
Harry swallowed hard, hoping his nervousness wasn't noticed by Alice. He couldn't believe he was acting this way. It was like he was a nervous teenager all over again. If Thomas ever saw him like this Harry would never hear the end of it.
"Oh! That's right. You have your magic back now. Are you excited about that?" Alice said excitedly as she grabbed her bag and headed for the back door. "I can't imagine what it'd be like to have your magic back after so long. Of course, the only thing I have is Wonderland, and this place is adventurous enough for me that I don't really need Wonderland."
"Wait, Alice, hold on," Harry said, reaching out a hand to her arm to stop her. He'd rather get this over now, mostly since if it went badly he could still sleep in his old room for the night.
"I'd like to give you your gift now, but it's... not conventional, at all. But I have to just give it to you," he explained. "Because if I asked you if you wanted it you'd say no. But I need to give this to you. Do you understand?"
"Oh, well. That's handy," Alice laughed. She peeked into the extra room. "Ah. It's a dressing room. It's usually where the ladies go to get their finery on and to have their hair done and such. We can probably make it over into our magic room, if we need one specifically for that."
"Yes, we would need a magic room," Harry replied with a nod. Already he had made a mental checklist of some of the things he would need to get them. If she decided to keep the powers that is.
