What a strange sight, at least to people who did not know Rukia. After all, would it not seem funny to see this short little woman, for no she was not a child, walking around with a sword (technically a zanpakutou, but people were always like a what?) and a Chappy on her shoulder? Rukia was well aware that some, aka Ichigo, thought that Chappy was strange and a mutant, but he wasn't. He was a bunny, really. Okay, so he might have some squirrel features, like the tail and the colouration, but he was Chappy, and he had protected her, kept her warm, and kept her fed ( ... )

She couldn't move, she could barely even think. Coherency was a luxury impossible to grasp when she was in this stage; it was sort of a trance, one she couldn't break out of on her own. The pinkette remained nearly motionless, only her green eyes flicking around fearfully as she attempted to find a way out, though she had no idea what that way might be. If she could just -

Her hardly strung-together thoughts were interrupted by the vision of another girl, probably about her own height, who seemed to be moving at breakneck speed towards her and the Scyphozoa. The small girl had a sword; a sword could free Aelita from her predicament. Ulrich did it all the time - if that girl could just slice away the tentacles, the captured pinkette would be able to move again and come up with a plan to save both their necks before any more monsters showed up. After all, they did tend to travel in packs.

Using all the self-control and will-power she could muster, the Lyokian was able to mouth two words to the girl; "Help me."

Rukia had no clue what type of a creature seemed to be attacking the girl, but when did it matter? Hollow or not, it was a shinigami's duty to keep the balance, to save people and to perform burials for souls. Her feet moved with a light nature, barely caressing the ground as she moved. Years of training had made it thus, for despite the fact that Rukia had been slightly sheltered during her years as a shinigami, she still did have strength ( ... )

Aelita had never seen anyone move that fast, not even Ulrich. She was hardly a flash to the girl's eyes, and before she knew it, she was sprawled on the ground, her memories and coherency flooding back to her. She mentally decided that she now believed in miracles, though she hardly knew what those were ( ... )
