She was a bit unsure of whether or not she should venture more into the subject of Hojo. Obviously, Vincent wasn't overly fond of her being around the man, same as the blonde man hadn't wanted Lucrecia near him ( ... )

Lonely? An eyebrow raised at that (along with the sudden newfound knowledge of her powers), and oh yes, he was definitely going to do everything he could now to keep her away from Hojo. Especially if the other man knew about her particular abilities; Vincent was positive he wouldn't hesitate to make a subject out of her, and that was something he definitely wanted to keep from happening. He did know for certain now that she had no idea of Hojo's true intentions, what he was really like, and that was a little concerning to him. Obliviousness to such matters were all right, he supposed, to an extent. But to be completely ignorant of it? That wouldn't do. And her powers, her abilities, Logan, those all wouldn't be enough to keep her safe.

"Mm, I have no doubt that you're quite the capable woman, Jean," he said after a moment, choosing his words carefully. "But the professor... he's done a lot of things that I really shouldn't go into. Jean chuckled, shaking her head.She wouldn't ever have pegged herself as being "quite the dance partner", but was visably pleased that the compliment had been made. Her cheeks were slightly tinted pink, due both to the compliment; as well as the fact she was close to a man she wasn't very familiar with, a man who wasn't Logan ( ... )

That small fact (that she hadn't used her abilities to tap into Hojo's memories) didn't surprise him at all. Jean definitely didn't seem like the type of person to do that, and so when she made that comment, he merely nodded his understanding in response. But though he wanted her to understand just how dangerous of a man Hojo was, he wasn't completely sure if it would have been wise for her to look into his memories. After all, she would have been able to see every single little detail, then, and most of those details tended to be quite horrific. Looking at her, at the warmth and the compassion that seemed to radiate from her, a part of him wanted to spare her from that ( ... )
