Violence has made me happy during this story, I think it's one of the main differences between the high school version and this one. When you write something that makes you uncomfortable, it means it causes a reaction in the reader and isn't that what a story is supposed to do?

Writing is definitely making me happy, but I was a little concerned at the ease with which some really graphically violent scenes seem to come. It's like-- wait, I'm not a sadist, so how am I able to portray this so easily?

I think it has more to do with the fact that we are older and understand the world better. It's easier to look at things from a more realistic point of view when you've been in the world for awhile yourself. Before we were 15 and blissfully unaware of how much we had yet to learn.

Geez, I guess so. Some of the naivete that goes along with being a teenager is nice, though. I wish I didn't understand quite so well how awful the world and people can be!
