Benjamin had been spending a lot of time thinking about Blodwyn. As a fifth year, she was the first girl to actually seem to show a true interest in him romantically. Sure, he'd had snogs in the past, but she was altogether different

Blodwyn sat comfortably in a well-lit corner, poring over a book titled with gilded letters so damaged only a few scraps were left on the cover. She appeared to be incredibly interested in the book but paused every few moments to flick her eyes upwards and observe the scenes playing out in the common room. Some first-year was shoving a salamander down a second-year's back and a couple right in front of the fire were snogging so passionately they didn't seem to notice the licks of flame dangerously close to their clothes.

She caught sight of Benjamin coming into the common room and smirked, eyes returning to her book.

Ben's stomach seemed to jump at the sight of her, but he stopped for a chat with a random other person for obvious reasons: To calm down his nerves, so that he could keep his cool, and to make it seem like he hadn't come just to speak to her.

A few minutes later, he walked over, a confident smirk set as though it had been upon his lips all his life.

"And how are you?" Benjamin asked, sitting down.

Blodwyn concealed a pleased smile, eyes still concentrated on the text in her book. She shifted slightly closer to where he sat, and her eyes flickered up to him for a second. "Quite well," she answered sweetly. "And you?"

"I'd say things are looking up," he shrugged, relaxing back against the couch.

He casually slipped an arm behind her [not touching her shoulders, but physically on the couch. She'd feel it if she leaned her neck all the way back.]
