(Day 10.)  So besides the mad exercise, it's also week 2 of the Mad High-Protein Diet now.  That's going pretty well…I'm sure I'm overshooting the carbs a little, and I should be eating more vegetables (always), but so far so good.

I've been doing high-protein ("slow-carb", not something extreme and ketogenic) without meat for months now, with steady success. You can do it entirely with normal food: whole eggs, egg whites, beans (mainly refried and lentils), limited amounts of nuts, cheese, and tofu. I do also eat fakemeats for variety.

Trader Joe's is a bit of a trap for my diet. Their "veggie burgers" are really tasty, but have 5-7 g of carb per 1 g of protein, compared to 1:1 or less for Boca and the like. Likewise, their "protein powder" is *really* sugary.

Interesting! I will look into getting more of those things, for variety and so I can stop feeling like I'm made of meat (well...you know what I mean). I have no experience of veggie burgers so that's good to know...and yeah, sugar is my demon. It's everywhere, and I MISS IT, heh.

Thanks!
