The much STRONGER argument, however, is that even if we "found" another 17% (or even more), it wouldn't be enough to make us self-sufficient. We will NEVER be self-sufficient with oil, and we need to stop buying into the desperate industry propaganda that says maybe we will be if we just give them some more money. It's bullshit, and we need to cut consumption and move to sustainable energy-sources YESTERDAY.
