I received my daughter's report card for the trimester. She received a 4.17. I didn't know that was possible. My daughter? Yeah, she rocks. Additionally, her school participates in the Accelerated Reader program. For those unfamiliar with the program, basically students read just about any book they want and then take a test on it. Ha! That is completely awesome! I'm sure I would adore my precious girl every bit as much were she to struggle academically, but it sure is fun having a smart kid.

(and I must mention that I have seen her working very hard this trimester, so I've applauded her work ethic and effort more than her brains as she has no real control over the latter)

Thanks! It's definitely affirming after spending the last two years failing to find decent employment. Not that I've found decent employment yet, but at least it helps affirm that the reason isn't my own idiocy.
