The Conspiracy

Just curious--what groups, cults, government organizations, religious bodies, etc. do YOU think of when you think of "the Conspiracy?" You know, THEM, the ones who hold back the electric car, faked the moon landing, want to put bar codes into everything, etc.

You may list as many or as few examples as you wish, cite sources, etc. I'm including ( Read more... )

gaming, conspiracy

Unfortunately, I haven't studied conspiracy theory enough to really have good names. The two that spring immediately to mind are The Illuminati (for various values of that name) and The Military-Industrial Complex(tm).

In real-world politics, I suppose I would accuse Big 3 Cars and Big Oil of having Muahahaha forms of power. I mean, Blackwater sure makes it look like Big Oil has its own mercs. I suppose Agribusiness is another real-life one (farm subsidies, lobbyists, etc), but really, "Big Corn" just doesn't sound as scary. :)

Ooo! Didn't see "religious" as a category the first time around. Scientologists FTW, too.

Yeah, the Illuminati far overshadows all of the other categories. Obviously, Masons are often advanced as a subgroup/front/something for the Illuminati, but...

Also notable: the Trilateral Commission and "the military-industrial complex."

If you're putting forth the Trilateral Commision, you also have to include the Council on Foreign Relations. And the International Communist Conspiracy, although I'm pretty sure they've had their butts handed to them by Capitalism (which is more a force of nature than a conspiracy, though).

Others: The Green Men from Mars (and other extraterrestrial equivalents), The Jews (included for the sake of completeness and PC-approved awareness of disparate perspectives only), The Republican Party, The Democrats, The CIA, The Camarilla (the vampires, not the fan club, obviously), and, of course, the Police State.

If we look toward Camarilla, then we may as well add the Technocracy and to a lesser extent the Traditions. I know the Masters of Correspondence magic, sure had fun with me when I was visiting London. Many were the occasions in which left turns became right turns and I turned out to be walking in the exact wrong direction of where I had intended. And I can assure you that it was not due to any fault of mine!.

I'm more controlled by the International Coffee Conspiracy than the International Communist Conspiracy!

I can tell you it's not the Masons. If the Masons control the world's money, I'm still waiting for our share!

Yeah, on the same note I'm Jewish and I still haven't received my television station.

Yes, the Masons do not control the world's money. *Much hand waving*

Go about your job and pay your taxes. *More hand waving*

Move along. Move along. *Hand waving*
