I think some of those recipes taste really bland. But I just like sweeter/richer/creamier ice cream.

I've made sea salt ice cream before. Just take your favorite brand of vanilla ice cream and add salt and blue dye. It's reaalllyyy good, and a lot better than some of those recipes.
