New things were always shiny. Caroline was enjoying the shiny of her room, especially once she'd cleaned everything like she was fighting a war against dust and cobwebs. A war it had looked like she lost before she'd gone to shower. But now all the dust and was gone and all her belongings were installed (thanks to Jake) and everything about her

After setting up her room and getting it all nice and pretty, Miley decided to wander about the dorms. No sooner had she reached the second floor than she heard adorable little puppy noises, and that was always worth investigating. When she peeked into the room that the noises were coming from, she squealed, "Aww, is that the little brother?"

He was totally adorable. Possibly more adorable than the older brother, but hey, apples and oranges.

"Miley! Come on in." On cue, Bobby started barking and struggling for Caroline to let him go and run around the new person and maybe sniff at her legs! Who knew? She could have been somewhere interesting!

"Yep, that's the little brother, also known as Bobby. Be polite with the sniffing, Bobby, God!" But still Caroline was smiling, though wishing she'd already dried her hair, sigh. "He's kind of excitable."

The whole people-as-puppies thing was crazy, yes, but Bobby was so cute that Miley didn't care. She stepped inside and bent down to pet him, making sure to scratch behind his ears.

"Man, I wish my brother could turn into a puppy," she decided in the midst of the petting. "Hey, maybe I could get him to visit..."

Bobby panted happily, letting her pet him for all of twenty seconds before something shiny caught his eye and he darted across the room, skidding under the bed after a cricket.

"Now that's just mean," Caroline laughed. "Unless you wanted to have to take care of him for days on end. But then, I'm still repressing my long weekend as a coyote."

Of course the ear scratches stealer got there first. Jake was failing to be surprised. "Obviously, someone failed to train him properly," he commented from the door.

Caroline's face lit up, hearing his voice as she fought off Bobby's attack on her hair. "You're just jealous he's tinier and gets to lay on the bed," she teased.

Bobby howled, jumping to his big puppy paws to look at Jake with big, doggie eyes.

"Oh no, you don't," Jake shook his head and he closed the door behind him before he crossed the room to her back. "You don't get to go territorial on me here."

"Aww, it's like he's trying to protect me!" Caroline laughed, reaching out to pull Bobby onto her lap to quiet him. "Hush, Jake's my boyfriend, remember? He gets to come inside." Bobby resumed his attempts to lick her chin and chew her hair.
