I go out to my car today, to go to the bank, and IT WONT START. I notice after a while that the dome light is on, and probably has been for over a day. I assumed that the battery was dead, but i didnt have my user manual for the car and I was pretty sick, so i just went and took a nap

If you had left the light on and the battery was completely drained it would be most likely that the battery was dead and you'd have to replace it. But if things like interior lights are working and the starter won't turn over while the jumper cables are attached, then it could.. be.. your.. starter. And that would be bad.
I'm trying to think if I know anyone that's good with cars. I know you have like zero money, barely enough to pay for your school shit, so I'll try to see if I know anyone. Oh, ha. Nelson says, "It's a burned-out solenoid." Whatever the fuck that means. He says he can possibly maybe replace it but it dpends on your car and it's been a long time, but it's apparently not expensive to get one. I'll keep asking around.
