In all economic/governement systems the leaders make out like bandits. That's a given. There's no system where the guy washing dishes and the commander and chief have the same lifestyle.
What has to be exaimed is how much those in the middle and the bottom rung have.
How many 'poor'Americans own a car, a house, a computer, are obese, and go on vacations?
Now, I know that American is not a lazie fair capitalist society but it's
That is one of the hardest things for me to deal with. 80% of the world exists on less than 2$'s a day. I have so much more than so many people and yet the people above me in monetary class have so much more than me. Then there is the ominous question. Would I care if I was brought up in the higher tax bracket in the first place? If my whole life I was able to have anything I wanted would I have wanted to share? Probably just not with anyone I know currently. I think we are all pretty well provided for and have marketable skills that will sustain us. I still can't get over that a lot of people can not get water that will not make them sick. I hope we as a country get our priorities straight.
Ben, you need to understand that the society we live in requires you to work or go to school, then work. that is just the way it is. there is never going to be a social revolution to counter your need for apathy. if you want to live you have to work. I don't understand why you feel this is not so. there are yes places in the world where this is not true, however, this is america, and it's not a third world country so you will have to suck it up and keep working. sorry, that's just how it is.
