Она печально прославилась тем, что в молодости, не имея должной квалификации, работала в оккупационных властях Ирака, распоряжаясь финансами страны. Пол Кругман (колумнист New York Times и Нобелевский лауреат по экономике) упоминает ее в заметке 2004 г. под названием “Who lost Iraq?”:
