I will always attest that retail is not something that one chooses in life, but rather, something that happens to you. I mean, retail is fine for a first job, or maybe some extra Chritmas money, but in essence, retail can suck when you have no other options. I did almost 9 years of retail. For me retail is the worst job possible. I have trouble dealing with so many people in a loud atmosphere and get a little nuts after a while.

I prefer the jobs I have which allow me to hang out in ma apartment and get things done for my boss.

Kudos to CR! He's absolutely the awesomest teen I know, having grown from the awesomest kid I know.

And Kudos to his super-sweet parents! You guys have a lot to be proud of, you raised him well because you're both such good people. :)

I always fear that, because whenever you hear about somebody being murdered young, you always hear what a great person they were...

Is that grisly?

Anyway, I won't rest on my laurels until he's at least 25, and then I would sigh in relief until his mid 30s, and I see how our grandchildren turned out. I am SO going to be one of those, "Where are my grandkids? When are you going to have kids?" grandparents.

I'm so happy my brother was mentioning home-schooling the other day, because it means he's still looking for Someone* and plans to have kids, so I don't need that on my agenda.

*he may even have a potential Someone -- he's shy about introducing girlfriends
