Life in Fraaaance: September-March Photo Edition *\o/*

Mar 21, 2013 12:04

It's a bit mind-boggling to realise that I've been living here for five months already o.o This has been an invalubale pause in my life - I've stopped running along while holding together everything with string and masking tape, and instead stopped and let it all fall out of my head, and that's meant that I've been(/am) a bit crazy and not ( Read more... )

These photos are beautiful. Makes me want to visit France and eat all the delicious food you guys have!

I'm glad to hear you're working out what you want and who you want to be, and having a good time with good people. People are often toughest on themselves, and it's important to love--and like!--yourself.

The Tardis scarf! That's super adorable. At my school, there's a blue bathroom stall door that's been made up to look like the door to the Tardis. It delights me to no end. :D

That is most exciting to hear, being exactly the sort of reaction I was hoping to inspire :D Have you visited France before?

This is true; thank you for the encouragement :)

The Tardis bathroom door sounds awesome! Was it a student who did it, do you think? I saw some amazing photos of someone who had painted her front door in the same way, and had peering from her windows various cardboard figures of Doctors, daleks, and assorted monsters (decorated for each major holiday).

I haven't, but intend to some day. It seems like one of those must-see destinations, you know?

I think it's a student. It's very well done with masking tape and ruler-straight sharpie lines and a painted lamp, so I think it was a planned guerrilla bathroom spruce-up project of some kind, haha. Oh man that front door sounds amazing, that woman is awesome!

I would agree that it is!

Ahh, that sounds awesome :D I really wanted to do something similar in my secondary school when around 16 (I was planning to draw a giant dragon mural to obscure the unpleasant graffiti in the bathrooms), but unfortunately chickened out at the last minute :/ I found an article with some pictures and the news that she's planning to turn her hall into a replica control room *__*

Hahaha, I'm really excited that you like the photos, as they were mostly in response to your request for pictures :D The castle really was quite amazing, I'd recommend Carcassonne as a one-day destination if and when you're ever pootering around in the South of France! Hmm, yes, it hadn't really occurred to me about the castle-lessness of NZ. Have you visited them elsewhere? Did you see some in Japan? I can't recall ( ... )

I'm glad you could share the pictures and tales, and I certainly hope to spam you with more of them in a wee while :) Yeh, I'm really glad of my teenage obsession with French now, as I did quite a lot of the work then and can now be lazier... I really should revise my verb conjugation though >.>

(*waves* How've you been?)

Haha, surprise! :D We moved here just six months ago, so that my girlfriend could do a Masters degree in sustainable agriculture at a French university. We might be moving away again in the summer, or we might stay for another 3 years while she does a phD here, but it's kind of up in the air at the moment...

It is quite dreamy and lovely haha! It was always a dream, to move to France, and I'm kind of excited to be fulfilling it.

Hi!! :D:D:D

Long time no see!

Glad to hear you're figuring things out, even though it's painful along the way. Seems like that's how it is. ^^'

Your photos are brilliant and so inspiring. Must be an adventure to have lived in an area like that! Wow. You go, ladies. :D

Hope you're doing good, wherever you are now! :D

Hi!!! :O Sorry I completely forgot to reply to this comment! It's really nice to hear from you! How are you doing?? Where are you living now?

Yeh, I think I maybe deferred some of my teenage angst to now -_- Things are still difficult, but definitely improving :)

It was really awesome! We're back in Edinburgh now, but were just talking yesterday about how we'd like to move back to France again in the future, maybe try another area :)
