I can relate to that sense of failure - not because I've been married but I was once with someone I seriously almost married. Although it's sad in a way, I see now that he was ultimately not the one for me.
That is the beautiful mystery of life - you will never know what the future holds for you until you arrive there.
One day you may meet a more suitable mate and see more clearly why your ex wasn't the one for you. They say everything happens for a reason.
