Death by Scythe

It was a dark and stormy night. Rain poured down from the black sky and pounded against the windows of my bedroom, but the women on Desperate Housewives bickering at each other were a good distraction from the gloominess.

"When was the last time you had sex?"

"Are you mad that I asked?"

"No, I'm just trying to remember."

I grin and turn over on my back. Luckily, I don't have the same problem as Susan. I can remember every detail of last night as if I was watching that instead of my favorite television show. I lean over my bedside and reach for my scythe, glittering in the blurry light of the television.

I run a finger carefully along the sharp edge. Suddenly, a gunshot and a following scream, not from the television, startle me. I hurry to stand and trip over the tangled bedsheets left on the floor from earlier this morning. I fall over on my scythe.
