I see a lot of people getting ripped off recently, and I'd like you all to know that paypal fees are NEVER OVER 3%. Its not even your responsibility to pay for it in the first place if you are the buyer. Its the cost of convienance for the seller. Also its against the ebay terms of service for the buyer to be charged for it. I know thats not gonna stop it from happening so everyone please read this and forward it to anyone you know that uses paypal to purchase goods
PayPal Standard Rate (2.9% + 0.30)
PayPal Merchant Rate I (2.5% + 0.30)
PayPal Merchant Rate II (2.2% + 0.30)
PayPal Merchant Rate III (1.9% + 0.30)
also, there is a 2.5% conversion rate fee. If you're one of those people who charge the fees to the buyer, then you should incorporate it into the price yourself. Asking someone to pay the fees AND asking them to calculate it themselves isn't very nice. Also this is a nice tool for everyone
http://www.ppcalc.com/ lets you calculate the fees, it also lets you put in a desired price and tells you how much someone would have to pay for you to get exactly that after fees.
edit// not saying that everyone who charges you these fees are ripping you off but a few bad apples spoil the bunch is what i'm trying to say. If you're in the US and the seller is in the US and you're paying more than 3% then you're indeed getting ripped off. I'm not trying to put anyone on the spot, I'm just trying to bring about some awareness.
