Since you asked.... ;D

One of the main rules of fiction writing is "show, don't tell." I think it's even more true in a picfic, where you literally can SHOW. When you want to show us several things at a time, or something like "X stops and thinks about it," then instead of writing it, take another picture and SHOW us that.

So, things like "*Holly continues to cower.*" You don't need to tell us that. We can SEE her cowering. Let the pictures and the dialog show us as much as possible of what you want to show us - there shouldn't be much you need to describe.

(...Did I mention I'm a professional writer doing a picfic for fun? No? Sorry about that.) :D

i see your point but equally i suck at photography so i worry that what i want conveyed isnt getting across.to people looking at my pics. I can see some of the stuff ive written probably doesnt need to be, stuff like *speaking directly into hollys head, sweating heavily, feelings tingly, shaking. All those i feel are nessecary cause they're not easy to do in a still frame of photography. But i'll keep your tip in mind and try to do it less

LOL, I understand being nervous about the photography. But you might want to just start experimenting with it. Think of it like theater, or anime. How can you pose the doll to show us that she's scared? Then you don't need to tell us about "shaking" or "sweating," because we'll know (close enough) how she's feeling. Look at comic strips and graphic novels - how do they do it?

And I mean, if there's something you just don't think you can SHOW but we really need to know it, then go ahead and tell us that. It's not a LAW, it's a guideline. :D
