Book Meme

I'm totally being a meme-whore recently.

The BBC believes most people will have read only 6 of the 100 books here. How do your reading habits stack up? Instructions: Copy this into your NOTES. Look at the list and put an 'x' after those you have read. Tag other book nerds...

Huh. Seems most everyone's read more of these then me. I'm not sure how to take that.

I'm one of those weirdos that read factual books more than great fiction. More than likely you would see my nose buried in a back issue of National Geographic or a science/history/psychology/new age book than anything else. I'm a damn research junky and proud of it! XD

Anywho, I'm surprised that A Brief History of Time by Stephen Hawking wasn't listed. Or any H.G.Wells or Arthur C. Clarke books for that matter. And let's not for get any book that was turned into a Stanley Kubrick film; like a Clockwork Orange, 2001 A Space Odyssey and Eyes Wide Shut.

I'm a history junkie! (If you like slash and don't mind lighthearted humor over some serious things, I suggest Axis Powers Hetalia.)

I wish they'd put all those on there! I also want And I Must Scream and ANYTHING by HP Lovecraft.

I'm all over H.P.Lovecraft. The Cthulhu Mythos is one of the best when it comes to weird fiction. Those things that should not be known and bunnies that demand to be writen!

Maybe it's because I'm biased towards my reading material, but why isn't Doyle's The Lost World, ANY of Michael Crichton's books (I read Jurassic Park and his Lost World before I even entered high school) or even the Jungle Book series, and maybe have Tarzan up there? Hell, have the original Bambi and let people know that Disney didn't come up with that story.

And speaking of Disney, what about any of the original Brother's Grimm, Beauty and the Beast, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, and others?

But if I'm known as 'that kid with their nose in a book' by old, barely remembered classmates over half a decade later, I'd like to think more of what I read would be on the list. *sighs and goes to tell their personal library that it's fine just the way it is*

(And I noticed they listed Hamlet at the bottom, when they already have the Complete Works back in the second tier.)

I did a little bit of digging after seeing this and apparently it wasn't BBC at all. But a list of most precious books from a World Book Day poll.

So actually it's from a popularity contest between 2,000 people. *sigh*

I just found it and did it out of boredom. XD

...I've been looking through your icons, and I'm fairly certain I've been at several of the photoshoots the pictures are from.
