This story is....fantastic beyond what I'd expected. It starts off a little slow, I guess, for a fanfic, but if I think about it less in the context of a fanfic and more in the context of a novel, it becomes less so. (I suppose I am just not used to fanfics being so long. I shall have to get used to that quickly. :D)

The beautiful alternate world you painted for Finnick and Annie...I made desperate, teary grabby hands. So many tears...

Only the first chapter and you've already made me cry. This will be a great story, methinks. (Also I reread Wisely and goddammit, that is a incredible piece of work.)

All the main fics in the Finnickiad-sequence-thingie are pretty long -- about two-thirds or three-quarters the length of the actual books, I think. It's part of why Mith and I offer the option of reading them all at once; we're pacing them like novels and not WIPs (which don't always have quite as much of a novel structure), so we have to set up some stuff first.

THEY ARE SO PRECIOUS AND I JUST WANT THEM TO SETTLE DOWN BY THE SEA WITH A BOAT AND LOTS OF BITTY ODAIRS RUNNING AROUND. Suzanne Collins, why you break my heart. ;________;

(I knooooow. Mith writes such amazing stuff, doesn't she? ♥ Best Mith.)

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoy the chapters to come!

That makes sense. I personally prefer reading them as you post, (mostly since I really just don't have the time to sit and read it all in one go; not to mention the headaches I get from reading onscreen); plus it means I get the anticipation of waiting for the next chapter. Even if it's not much of a wait. :D

SO MANY ODAIRS there needs to be more...augh Collins whyyyyyy D:

Oh, I think I will enjoy them, very much. <3

Hey, that's why we give the option of reading the story multiple ways! Different strokes, different folks, etc. And I feel you about the screen headaches.

BECAUSE COLLINS GIVETH AND THEN COLLINS TAKETH AWAY BECAUSE SHE FEEDS OFF OUR SUFFERING OR SOMETHING, I DON'T KNOW. sob. sob. sob. I will never be over that. ;____________;

I really enjoy that your Finnick has a family, and such a strong sense of family between them as characters. Something that THG never gave any of its characters, really, was a good family, so it's really nice to read one here.

And your little!Finnick story made me both a little weepy (it's just a sea turtles thing, and also a bb!characters thing) and also laugh. :) Which is always a great balance for fic!

Of course, the opening scene -- what could have been -- ow, my heart. My heart; ow. I think if Annie hadn't rolled away to cover her ears at the ring that never was, I might have had to, because it hurts so much that Finnick and Annie never got, and never get, that. :(

Coming up with Finnick's gigantic family has consistently been one of our favorite parts of working on this story and they get even more to do in the sequel to this, which I'm looking forward to. I definitely see what you mean re: THG and family, and I feel like so much of what grounds Finnick and keeps him from losing himself is his sense of home and his relationships with the people he loves, so we both wanted to make those things big parts of his story. And, well, I figure Mith and I do enough horrible things to Finnick that we can at least give him a big loving family which means Snow has no shortage of people to levy as threats against Finnick, but hey, such is life in Panem.

bb!characters are the best, no arguments there. :D Sometimes I want to be horribly self-indulgent and write some of the adventures of bitty!Finnick (or at least write down all the ones Mith and I come up with at, like, four in the morning), mostly because I am firmly convinced that that kid was both a total cutie and a total terrorOh god, yeah, I got ( ... )
