Eeeee reading this makes me feel like I'm reading the series again - it's bittersweet.

Thank you! And yeah, bittersweet. She's home, and he's there for her as much as he can be, but they've got a long way to go and they're not out of the woods yet.

Finnick reminds me of a dolphin when he's swimming alongside the boat. (Yet another bit of oceanic imagery; why do I keep feeling like Finnick and Annie encompass opposing aspects of the sea?)

(Probably because they do, in a lot of ways.)

A lot of the inspiration for Finnick in the sea came directly from that part in CF where Katniss describes him as more sea creature than human. He's of the water, and it's really beautiful.

Yet another reason to absolutely love Finnick to pieces. <3

Thank you~ They're so beautiful together. But yeah, the horrors of the Arena itself never quite measure up to what happens after, Snow makes sure of that, and it's so palpably true for Annie.

So, I'm thoroughly enjoying every line of this, but every now and then one just jumps out at me and punches me in the face.

Like this one: “I know,” she whispers. “I know you won’t be there at all.”

Because, damn...
