I went basically like this:

America and Shakespeare.

America
And Shakespeare.

America

Shakespeare.

And then I went basically: No. Way. There's just no way. I couldn't associate America with Elizabethan theatre... >w>;; And then he started rapping.

Time travel: it's a cornucopia of distrubing concepts.

Yes. Yes it is. (And oh god, the things he does next chapter. *giggles*)

Hope you're enjoying, though!

Well, hopefully the waiting period won't be as strenuous after this! (Yay ACTUALLY HAVING TIME AGAIN.)

The history addiction's why I love the fandom, too, and it's why it's stuck with me for so long. ♥ I'm so glad I can help scratch that history-itch!

Fail language skills only make America cuter. How is that possible? <3333

Oh you wonderful, magnificent, brilliant woman, you... Do you have any idea how hard I was fangirling over Shakespeare? The man is just fantastic!!! And America learning the tricks of the trade!!!!! OMG, acting back in the day was so hardcore!!! Seriously, you actually had to have talent to perform the stuff they did.

Might I add how sexy smart America is. I love it when America uses his head for solving Elizabethan mysteries almost as much as I love it when he finds ways to land men on the moon or create the internet... Yeah intelligent America is hot.

Can't wait for Bess to show up! And Ireland... She's also pretty savy when it comes to magics so it makes me wonder how much of whats happening she's aware of. (Inquiring minds and all that jazz.)

I don't even know, but they so do. And while he's getting a better grasp on the Elizabethan, he's still malaprop-ing. A lot. It's awesome.

*bluuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuush* Oh gosh, I am so glad it pleased! And yeah, acting was a damn grueling profession even if you weren't a clown -- had to have dozens of roles in your repertoire ready to perform at not much notice, really short rehearsal periods, performance (and rehearsal) pretty much every day...yeah. Grueling.

Agreed so much on intelligent!America, too. The guy definitely fails the occasional Wisdom check, but he's far from stupid, and he's got the kind of mind that's really good at figuring things out, though that usually tends to scientific rather than detective-y things. Usually.

Bess is next chapter, Ireland is -- I think in chapter seven or eight, depending on where I decide to put the break? But she's going to be fun.

Your America is way too adorable for words.

Lol... makes me laugh when I look back on my high school theater experience and kids would complain about how hard our director was on us making everyone get up early for morning practices. Just... really guys?

His brain is wired to be naturally nerdy in the ways of science and England's seems to do the same with grammar and literature... I find that seriously hot in both cases.

OMG, Elizabeth <3333333 Yeah, sorry, Al, but I'm still sort of shipping her with England harder than you two right now. Though if he keeps looking as good in my head in those outfits Will gave him, I don't see how long England can resist. It's alluring, that's for sure...

Admittedly, mornings are kind of anathema to actors, but seriously, I've been in dress until 2 AM before, and even that's pretty mild compared to the performance schedules other actors have to keep, to say nothing of what non-contemporary actors were expected to do.

*nod* They have different kinds of intelligence, but they're both smart, and I think their types of smart ultimately complement each other.

Ffff, it's totally understandable. Oh man, the scene next chapter with them -- it's going to kind of break me to write it, but at the same time, so looking forward to it. And man, if someone fanarts that, I will love them forever. Seriously.

Pffffffft. All of this from America's POV is just amazingly hysterical. It's like A Kid in King Arthur's Court, but with the added point of how no one must know he's from the future. So all of his comments have to stay in his head. The whole chapter had me grinning.

And. AND.

AMERICA. PERFORMING SHAKESPEARE and rap. IN SHAKESPEARE'S OWN PRODUCTION. FOR QUEEN ELIZABETH. WITH THE NATION OF ENGLAND WATCHING. IN A DOUBLET AND DONKEY HEAD.

My brain is going to break from the convoluted Oh.My.God crossed timelines/personalities/histories that this play will bring about. If you put zombies attacking in the theater... I'm just going to have to call this the best story EVER.

Actors back in the day were so much more hardcore than they are now. Also, proud England made me teary. You've got all the right in the world to be proud, man. Shakespeare was one of the best.

MORE WITTY REPARTE PLEASE. ^_^

The witty repartee shall never end!

And yeah, that's one of the reasons America's PoV in this is such fun -- he gets to hang lampshades and provide the snarky metacommentary and all manner of delightful things.

Well, the performance will be an eventful one, I can tell you that much -- though heck, considering the giant honking wildcard that is America, hard for it not to be.

England being proud, uh, just generally kind of hits me in the woobiebuttons. Aaaaaw.

So glad you enjoyed!

Oh Christ, this is still lovely.

(And it always gives me a nice little rush of relief when America gets to be the clever one.)

(Also, rapping Shakespeare. Wat. ♥)

I am so glad you think so. ♥

(Yeah, I wanted to give America a chance to show off what he can do in this fic -- well, England obviously gets that, too, but I wanted America to be able to hold his own in this. And well, he is damn clever, and like I said above, he's good at putting things together.)

The rapping Shakespeare = totally based on a production of Midsummer I was involved with. Man that was a fun one.
