Man, I love those verbal smacksdown. America mouthing BUUUUUURRN is just precious. And yeah Proud England! And America America America being his adorkable self. ♥♥♥

(also, I'm somewhat excited that...we get to see Elizabeth next chapter. I think I may bring tissues out for that. Because England's gonna be...oh God, I can't even imagine.)

America is so goddamn charming here I don't even. I swear it's like he comes up with half of this stuff on his own, really. ♥ And I kinda love England and America learning to treat each other like, you know. Adults. SOMEDAY THEY WILL ACHIEVE FUNCTIONALITY.

(Yep, Elizabeth is next chapter! And oh god I think I'm going to cry WRITING that part. God I'm such a sap.)

Oh, God, I needed this today.

First off may I say the little hints of magic and magic folklore throughout this are like my favorite things ever. Seriously, I am such a dork for that sort of thing.

Second, the picture in my head of America attempting to be Bottom in AMND just...is so amazing I can't even describe it, but it had me nearly falling out of my chair laughing.

“Hey,” America says, rests his hand on England’s shoulder. “He didn’t starve, remember? He was murdered.”
Because that's so much better, America. So much better. XD

Lovely work <3

So glad it could come in at the right time. *grins* And oh lord, there's magic everywhere in this fic. Er. In case that wasn't obvious enough already.

America playing bottom wasn't even in the original outline, but I got to the scene where Kemp leaves and I was like OH FUCK I HAVE TO I TOTALLY HAVE TO. And with this fic, that's all the justification I need.

(And yeah, America's ideas of what constitutes being comforting can be -- uh, skewed?)

So glad you liked!

*blush* Well, it's nice to hear regardless, and I'm so glad you're enjoying this story.

One of the absolute pleasures of working on this fic is the wit and the wordplay, the fact that I get to write so many characters who are good with words in very different ways (even America), and I'm glad that shines through. I mean, the fic isn't purely humor, of course, but I never want that snappy language to die even when I have to cover more serious stuff.

The next update actually should be next week! Wow, it feels good to say that. :D

This fic has been an absolute joy to read thus far, primarily because there's such a sense of fun running throughout it, and I can't express how great that is to find in any work.

Having said that, I was flailing derpily on my parents sofa halfway through, and this completely made my night.

I must ask, is the rap section a shout out to certain versions of Othello?

Dude, I get such a kick out of hearing -- well, what a kick other people get out of this fic. It is fun to write, and I'm pretty much writing it because it's such a blast, and that takes a lot of the angst off my shoulders, you know?

*grins* It's actually a shoutout to a production of Midsummer I was involved in, where Bottom did rap that section, but I wouldn't be surprised if they got it from the RSC.

And writing should be fun anyway. There's something completely admirable about people going, "This is a crazy idea and I am going to own that shit." The results are always excellent, and making people laugh is always the best.

....Okay, I would love to actually see that rap.

[PS: I've been stalking this LJ for a while, and have meant to ask, may I add? I dislike randomly adding folks without their say so.)

Oh, definitely! This is just sometimes hard to remember when you're stuck in the middle of exam season. But I actually have time to write for myself again, and it's wonderful.

I don't think it's on the Intertubes, but I'll link it if I find it!

(Sure thing! I never mind making new friends. :D)

*grins* Yeah, America raps Shakespeare. And I'm so glad this is fun without context! I'm trying to explain the relevant stuff in-story as it comes up -- especially since America doesn't know a whole lot of it, either -- but I know I can't footnote everything, and I'm glad it's a smooth read.

Thanks so much for reading and commenting!
