You sound like you had a blast! I only hope I have as much fun at Otakon this year ^^;;
Those xxxHolic outfits were lovely, but Mith's was especially gorgeous! All that time and energy crafting that really paid off. Plus she has the right look for Yuuko, I'm a bit envious XD
And Hetalia meets real life... That had to be interesting ^^;;; I'm glad they were at least polite to you guys about it. I stand by my belief, that even if you aren't really an anime fan, Hetalia has a strange way of bringing people together. Probably why it's become so close to me within a year <3
So Mith was all "blah blah blah I can't cosplay CLAMP women blah blah blah noodle people art blah blah blah I am not a noodle" and I was all "YUUKO HONEY." And she was like "point." She would also make a hot Cornelia, but.
Well, they didn't know it was Hetalia -- I think we just looked like reenactors to them. But they seemed to get a real kick out of all the Hetaliafolk, and most of the fans I saw behaved respectfully towards them, which I was glad to see. I do think someone's service to hir country should be respected, regardless of what you think of hir as a person.
Pfft! Noodle bodies... Holic perfected that trend XD To be honest, there are actually a lot of women in CLAMP she could reasonably pull off, I think. The ones that come to mind most of all are Karen from X and Oruha from Clover. Both of them are gorgeous and awesome and certainly not the typical CLAMP girl build.
That's so sweet, though. Seriously, stories like that make me smile. And agreed to everything that you said. I'm just glad todays veterans are at east treated with respect regardless of how unpopular the wars are. We're talking about PTSD in abnormal psych now, and watching documentaries about the Vietnam vets. its really depressing how horrible people were to them...
Honestly, that was one of the best masq skits I've seen. The combination of musical theater and Peep's drawings was amazing ("Infamy, etc." And Mith's creepy Russia, oh god). I've watched it about three times and I'm not done smiling yet.
And you make a great Wata-cookie! I imagine that costume would be loads of fun.
*grin* Peep's drawings kind of made the skit, really. We have to do something suitably nice for her in thanks. Probably cookies. So glad you liked it, and yeah, Mith's Russia is friggin' TERRIFYING. SHE WILL CUDDLE YOU WHEN YOU LEAST EXPECT IT.
I think Watanuki is one of the most fun costumes I've ever worn, posing-wise. The doofier, the better.
