The vets appointment has been made for this afternoon.  I have a friend coming with me.  It is tough to say good bye.  Even though I know she has been ill for a long time and she really has reached the end of the road.  It is still tough.  I have moaned and whined about her senile dementia, I still feel like I am letting her down.

I am very sad, though. I've had to do it too. It isn't fun. I cry my eyes out.

I wish I could say something helpful.

I'm sorry. Don't feel that you're giving up on her or failing her. You're preventing her from suffering. That's not letting her down. Ignoring her suffering would be letting her down.
