Great animal shots, especially all the little piggies crawling in the dirt. Your robins are quite dapper.

Thanks! Though it was a little disappointing that I didn't get any bird shots, apart from the robin. Our robins are quite tame, so it's easy to get close enough to take a picture of a robin.

Poor old Poole.

I love the animal companions, great photos. It's like a horse having a cat friend in the stable; you wouldn't expect them to get on.

Poole seems to care nothing for history and nothing for posterity. I wonder whether any of those blocks of flats that are going up so quickly will still be there in fifty years...

I know a lot of horses are terrified of pigs, so I would have expected deer to be wary as well. It was was quite surprising to see that stag so relaxed in their company.

The deer and pigs add much to the general effect of the pictures.

It was nice to get such a close glimpse of one of the Sika deer. They are usually all out grazing on the distant marshes during the day.

Great pics.
Interesting about the rewilding. Sounds cool, but what do most people think about it?

Thanks!

I think most people are supportive in theory, but there are definitely going to be practical problems, especially if the pigs are going to be turned out free range on the heath during the summers.

THey pretty much look like domesticated pigs. Funny enough, free running pigs, aka boar, are a huge problem in several parts of the SW US.

At first I thought it was an oil painting - in the first photo. Crested grebes and unas are present and should arrive in the spring to nest. I really like them - they are so beautiful

For one moment, the light was perfect!

Yes, I love Crested Grebes, so delicate and so elegant!
