My Surreal Experience
So I got to Massachusetts today. I'm staying in Lee, about 15 minutes out of Stockbridge and I thought I'd go check out Stockbridge to find out how to get there, where the theatre is, etc. I have a ticket to Saturday's show but I thought maybe I'd even go tonight - you can get rush seats for half price. I was enjoying myself wandering around the town and realized I hadn't had anything to eat for 12 hours and I'd better get something. I was starting to head out of town to a restaurant I had found out about but thought that I'd never make it back by 7:30 if I did, so I turned around and decided to go into this nice place in town where there were people sitting around outside, they had a nice restaurant there. I go in and choose to sit in this little tiny place like an English pub - there were only about 6 or 8 tables in there and there was just me, this other couple and 3 men sitting at another table - 2 older gentlemen and a younger guy who had his back to me. I'm looking at this young blonde guy's back and thinking to myself - that looks like Randy Harrison from the back - and I'm telling myself - don't be stupid - just because you're here to see Randy in a play, you're imagining you are going to run into him the first place you go. Then I hear the conversation and they are talking about theatre and Amadeus and someone who "sucked sweets all day" and the older gentleman calls the young guy "Randy". It was Randy sitting next to me. Then my meal came and I could hardly eat it, I was so freaked out. At 7:00 p.m. Randy said to the men that he'd better get going and he grabbed what looked like a script and stood up and turned towards me where I do all fangirly and say "Oh my God Randy" where he slows down, looks down to see who called his name and gave me a "do I know you" look and kept walking out. He was wearing a striped orange and black long sleeved tee and bare feet! Anyway, that was my experience and I think I'll try to go back in to Stockbridge to see the play tomorrow. If I meet up with Randy again, I'll have to apologize for scaring him!
