Grace was silent, pale with shock. She’d dreamed about a little girl, with her blonde hair and Burt’s green eyes, a little sister for Kurt. She’d been sure she was pregnant; she’d had the same symptoms of her pregnancy with Kurt. She hadn’t known the symptoms of a pregnancy were the same as the ones for ovarian cancer.
She had to go home. She had to tell Burt he was going to lose his wife. She had to find the words to tell Kurt he was going to lose his mother.
